Heidi Guild BDS Edin. MFGDP (UK)
Heidi qualified in 1992 from Edinburgh University Dental School. She completed her Vocational Training with an attachment to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Heidi then practiced for 12 years in general practice in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. During this time she also worked as a clinical assistant in Oral Surgery as well as taking a staff grade post in Orthodontics, both at The Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
In 1997 Heidi was awarded the prestigious MFGDP qualification by the Facultyof General Dental Practitioners. In 2004 she moved back home to Northern Ireland where, along with Bruce,they started The Guild Practice.
Heidi completed the Multi-System Dental Implantology Certificate Course at Trafford General Hospital with Cemal Ucer in 2001 and the Anthony Bendkowski course in Sinus Augmentation and Bone Grafting. She has also attended the advanced courses in implantology by Nigel Saynor and in full arch implant restoration by Andy Moore. Heidi is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry and is happy to provide intra-venous sedation for her anxious patients.
In 2012 Heidi completed Paul Tipton’s Advanced Restorative Dentistry Course. This leads to a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry.
In 2014 Heidi was awarded a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership from The Chartered Management Institute. This is part of an ongoing commitment from the practice to develop and grow as a team and further enhance the quality of our service.
Heidi has a special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and Implant Dentistry.
Bruce Guild BDS Edin.
Bruce qualified in 1992 from Edinburgh University Dental School. He completed his Vocational Training with an attachment to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Bruce then practiced for 4 years in general practice in Cookham, Berkshire followed by 8 years in practice in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. In 2004 he moved to Northern Ireland where, along with Heidi, they started The Guild Practice.
In 2001 Bruce completed the Multi-System Dental Implantology Certificate Course at Trafford General Hospital with Cemal Ucer and began placing and restoring implants for his patients. In 2010, Bruce trained with Anthony Bendkowski to complete his training in Sinus Augmentation and Guided Bone Regeneration. Bruce also has a special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and Implant Dentistry. In 2011 Bruce became a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry enabling him to use intra-venous sedation for patients who may find dental procedures particularly stressful.
Over the past few years Bruce and the rest of the team at The Guild Practice have been lecturing and instructing other dentists in the restoration procedures involved for implant dentistry and currently spends much of his time carrying out implant placements for patients to then be returned for their own dentist to complete the restoration phase. Shortly Bruce aims to further his qualifications by commencing the FGDP(UK) 2-year Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in England.
Katherine Stevenson BDS.
Katherine joined The Guild Practice in 2008. After qualifying from Liverpool Dental School in 1995 she completed her Vocational Training with an attachment to the Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan. Further to this Katherine worked in private practices in Oxford and Ballyclare before joing us here at The Guild Practice.
In 2006 Katherine undertook a year-long post-graduate course in Dental Implantology. In 2012 Katherine completed Paul Tipton’s Advanced Restorative Dentistry Course. This leads on to a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry.
Katherine has gained her certification for provision of Inman Aligner Orthodontic treatments and is shortly to undertake her certification in Six Month Smile Orthodontics.
Katherine is qualified in the use of products for Facial Aesthetic Treatments and Anti-Wrinkle Treatments aiming to help minimise the effects of ageing. Katherine is also a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry and is happy to provide intra-venous sedation for her anxious patients when necessary.
Peter Stevenson BDS Newcastle.
Peter qualified from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 2000. He then completed a further year of training in dental practice in conjunction with Oxford University. Over the years he has undergone extensive training in a wide variety of topics including dental implants, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.
Peter completed a 4-year intensive post-graduate degree in 2015 and was awarded the prestigious title of Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) with Merit, in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics from King’s College London. (Recently ranked the 7th best Dental school in the world in the QS World University Rankings). Only a small percentage of dentists in the UK have achieved this title.
Peter has continued his link with King’s College London and is now a Postgraduate Tutor for the Prosthodontic Degree. This role involves mentoring the current postgraduate students along with the assessment and marking of assignments.
Peter hosts study clubs at the practice for referring dentists and also lectures on various dental topics including tooth wear and aesthetic dentistry.
